Sunday Worship Service

     This Sunday I am continuing to preach on Jesus' charge to his disciples in Matthew 10:24-39. My sermon title is "Authority Issues" as the text addresses the issues of what to do when someone in authority over you is unjust. Jesus had examples in his day "a disciple is not above the teacher, nor a servant above their master..." Maybe you can think of a few examples from our day. Jesus encourages his disciples to continue to live their faith in adversity, trusting that God sees them fully and their suffering for what it is, and loves them.

    As the Rev Dr Martin Luther King Jr, famously said in his Letter from Birmingham Jail: "the time is always right to do the right thing." This week we celebrate Juneteenth and Sunday is Father's Day -- good days to be reflecting on justice, family, and relationships. Join us!
